INCREASE AND STRENGTH!

“He increased His people greatly and made them stronger than their enemies” (Psalm 105:24).

God is one to increase you and make you strong. His will and wish are to make you stronger than your enemies. Today, the enemies are big in number throughout the world. Resistance and struggles have become the order of the day. But, you the children of God need not worry. God has promised to make you stronger than the enemies. Be strong and courageous.

The first counsel David offered to his son Solomon was “…be strong, therefore and prove yourself a man” (I Kings 2:2). Solomon followed it and thus was able to reign Israel and became increased and got strengthened. All his enemies became an oppressed lot in front of him. God is faithful in His promises.

Azariah the prophet told the children of Israel, “But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!” (II Chronicles 15:7). Accordingly, the Israelites became strong and defeated their enemies. The Scripture says, “...He was found by them and the Lord gave them rest all around” (II Chronicles 15:15).

When Joshua led the children of Israel towards Canaan, seven strong tribes were living and thirty-one kings were ruling there. On the other hand, the children of Israel did not possess enough weapons or ammunition. But God made them stronger than their enemies.

God strengthened Joshua and said, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to these people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them” (Joshua 1:5, 6).

That God stays as your God. Today, enemies might have risen around you. Out of jealousy, your neighbours might have troubled you in many ways. Even your relatives might have spoken defaming you. But, do not get disheartened. God places His hands of love on you and says, “Do not fear. I stand in support of you. I will make you stronger than your enemies.”

To meditate: “Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear” (Isaiah 35:3, 4).
