SHALL REAP IN JOY!
“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5, 6).
You shall reap in joy. God will command a good harvest for you. How blessed it is for you to stay as servants in the garden of the Lord! There are harvests for this age and eternity too. Temporary harvests are there and permanent ones are also there.
The Scripture says, “It is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power” (I Corinthians 15:43).
You are expecting a huge harvest on the day of Coming of Christ. That harvest is the end of the world and the angels are the ones to carry it out. The Scripture says, “And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Mathew 24:31).
What a glorious sight it would be for the angels to assemble all the saints who are the wheat grains and carry them to heaven during the Coming of Christ! If you want to find a place in that glorious harvest, you should be ones to sow with tears today.
There was a servant of God by name Colonel Clark. After coming back from office, he used to conduct Gospel meetings in the community hall located in the border of the town. It was common in those meetings for the drunkards, thieves, rowdies and gamblers to surrender themselves to Christ with tears.
Though his sermons will not be deep in nature, powerful deeds of the Holy Spirit will be there during the closing stages. The reason is nothing but his crying eyes. He used to cry in his privacy, in prayer, in sermons and also when he counsels the people.
In the beginning, with the thought that crying is an ugly act for a man, he tried to control himself. But, during such days, the deeds of the Holy Spirit were not visible during the worship. Then he cried out to God saying, “God, give me the Spirit of tears.” Thus, he received the broken heart, the Spirit of application and the tears of request.
Dear children of God, tears are not a symbol of shame. It is a symbol of divine strength. It is a symbol for the model of Christ. If you sow with tears, you will reap in joy.
To meditate: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
