DO NOT WORRY!

“Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” (Mathew 6:27).

Worry is a thorn-like thing. That thorn is pricking your heart and makes you suffer. It chokes the spiritual life. This world is filled with worries. Many people look happy outwardly but their internal life is filled with worries.

The Scripture says, “But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord—how he may please the Lord. But he who is married cares about the things of the world—how he may please his wife” (I Corinthians 7:32, 33).

Look at the pastors. The worries do not spare them too. Paul the Apostle says, “Besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches” (II Corinthians 11:28). True servants of God cannot remain aloof without the burden over the church and over gaining of souls. The worry over the congregation to be served with Heavenly Manna will always be in them. Naturally, worries would come across in your life but what is important is that you should not sink into them. You should learn to place all your worries and burdens on God. You should always surrender yourselves to get filled with divine peace and praise God.

Once a government official suffered from blood pressure. The reason for this was the heavy workload he faced in his office. He was in direct contact with VIPs like ministers and had to execute every assignment with great pressure and fear. The doctor who tested him advised that it was imminent for him to get admitted in a hospital and treated in the intensive care unit. The official requested to permit him to take a day’s time before doing so.

After this, he returned home, took a paper and listed out all his worries one after the other. He placed the paper in the Bible and prayed, “God, I have placed all my worries in your hands. Protect me so that these things do not cause pressure in me.” He praised God whole-heartedly.

Next day the doctor tested him again and was greatly surprised to find him in a normal condition. With all astonishment, he asked, “How did this happen? There is no symptom of blood pressure in you.” The man replied, “I just placed my burden on God and praised Him. I discovered that there is no better medicine than this”.

Dear children of God, do the worries dash against you as one wave after the other? Do not worry. Jesus Christ is eager to accept and carry all your worries. Place all your worries on Him.

To meditate: “Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters” (Song of Solomon 2:2).
