WHAT THE EYES SAW!
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up” (Isaiah 6:1).
How blessed it is to see God of High sitting on a high throne! What a wonderful opportunity it is to see His glory! Is it not very true that those who see God will be fully transformed? Let us meditate the three things which Isaiah saw.
Firstly, He saw God. He says, “my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Before the death of King Uzziah, the eyes of Isaiah kept looking at him and his throne. That king was capable of fulfilling all his needs and helping him. But, when King Uzziah died, his life became miserable. He became weary in his ministry. As he concluded that there was no other option other than going behind God, he went to the temple of God and knelt down.
At that moment, God made his eyes to open. His eyes saw God who was the King of kings. What a handsome God He is! What a glorious King He is! He realised God saying, “Isaiah, the king who supported you is dead and his throne is vacant now. Now, you look up. Here, I am sitting on the throne. All dominion and authority have been vested on me. So, do not fear and I will support you.”
Secondly, Isaiah saw the trail of God’s robe. The trail of God’s robe had filled the temple. In the New Testament, you are the temple. What the trail of His robe denotes is His power.
Dear children of God, though the Lord is gloriously seated amid the angels in Heaven, the trail of His robe is extended up to the earth and it is hanging near you. You can touch and feel the power of God anytime. You can experience the miracle performed by that power. Will you extend your arm with all faith?
Thirdly, Isaiah saw the seraphim. They are the ones which praise God. They were singing, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” If Seraphim were praising God in such a way, how greatly we are bound to praise Him! Dear children of God, He is one to cleanse you from your sins by His blood and one to make you kings and priests. So, may you praise Him with all your strength and heart! May you join cherubim and seraphim and glorify God!
To meditate: “I will extol you; my God, O King and I will bless your name forever and ever” (Psalm 145:1).
