BY DANCING!

“Let them praise His name with the dance; let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp” (Psalm 149:3).

When you praise God through dancing, it provides happiness both to you and God. When you think of the good things done by God, you can never remain silent. When you feel the presence of God, you cannot stay without rejoicing.

Imagine that you are returning to your home after a long duration. How will your wife and children welcome you? How happy your children would be! They will dance around with the happiness of your return. You feel happy and they too.

You cannot avoid rejoicing when the presence of God descends in your midst. “In His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures furthermore” (Psalm 16:11) says the Scripture. The presence of the Heavenly Father is the presence of joy.

Generally, those who celebrate their victory will dance and rejoice. Just imagine two football teams play a match vigorously. In the end, the winner will dance and celebrate their victory in the ground itself.

The children of Israel also celebrated their victory in the same way. The children of Israel were so happy when God pushed Pharaoh, his army, horses and the warriors into the Red Sea. “Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances” (Exodus 15:20).

You can also read about another incident in the book of Judges. Jephthah departed to fight with the people of Ammon. God helped Jephthah to win the battle. We read in Judges 11:34 that when Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, his daughter, came out to meet him with timbrels and dancing (Judges 11:34).

Of all the victories in the world, the greatest is the victory Jesus Christ attained on the Cross. He won over the world, flesh and attained a great victory crushing the head of satan. He won over the powers of darkness and gave you the victory. To whatever extent you may dance and pray but it will not be enough for all the good things He has done to you. Dear children of God, God has fought for you. He has won the war of Calvary for your sake. Be happy and praise God by dancing.

To meditate: “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore, I will play music before the Lord” (II Samuel 6:21).
