GIVES STRENGTH!
“Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding” (Proverbs 8:14).
Once, Campbell Morgan, a servant of God fell ill. The physical weakness affected him. He realised that the final moment for him to enter into eternity had arrived. Many people prayed for him as he was lying unconscious. God graciously saved him and extended his lifespan.
After this incident, another servant of God came to meet Campbell Morgan and told, “Sir, I have been passing through a path of tears and path of sickness. I do not know why God permitted these things to happen in me. I am afraid, my whole life will get broken.”
In response, Campbell Morgan touched him with his loving hands and told, “Brother, be assured that you will encounter the power of God in your life to the same extent you encountered sufferings. Your relatives and the people in the Church will understand this. All these sufferings which you experience today indicate that the power of God is going to be revealed in your life.”
These soothing words comforted the pastor greatly. He thanked God saying “Lord, lead me according to your will. If it is your will to reveal your power through these sufferings to me, lead me in the same way.”
Whichever man is prepared to pay the price for the revival and power of God, the power of God will definitely be revealed in his life. This is a very big lesson which you learn from God. Do you know whom God will use as a vessel of comfort? Do you know with whom God will comfort others? It will be done through none but the children of God who passed through the path of suffering.
You have to pass through many experiences to become a comforting son or a mother to others. You will cross the water, rivers, fire and later you turn into a vessel of grace to comfort others.
Look at Joseph. He experienced sufferings right from his young age. But one day arrived and God began to exalt Joseph greatly. God made him the head of Egypt and redeemed the people of Egypt from famine. Not only that. Joseph was enabled to provide comfort and support to his brothers who had troubled him in the past. This is what made him a shepherd and a rock of Israel. Dear children of God, that God will also exalt you.
To meditate: “Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake, that He might make His mighty power known” (Psalm 106:8).
