WATCHING DAILY AT GATES!
“Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors” (Proverbs 8:34).
God is prepared to speak to you. Are you prepared and deserving to listen to Him? Many people who come to the church will be eager to hear the words of blessing. When told that God commands prosperity to them, they will respond saying ‘Hallelujah.’
But if anyone speaks condemning their shortcomings, they will not be able to tolerate. They will not be willing to get their lives reformed. When God speaks, He not only utters the word of counselling but He comes out with certain condemning words too.
Solomon the wise says, “The ear that hears the rebukes of life will abide among the wise” (Proverbs 15:31). Dear children of God, when God speaks to you, will you humble yourself and listen to even the words of condemn with all eagerness? If you do so, God will openly reveal you all the hidden facts.
Look at Mary. How eagerly she sat at His feet to listen to Him! No other thing looked more valuable for her. The Scripture says, “Mary....who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word” (Luke 10:39). By doing this, she chose what is better and which will not be taken away from her.
What a sweet experience it was! Just visualise it Jesus Christ is seated in a chair. You are seated in the place where Mary had been seated, eagerly waiting to hear Him. He likes to speak to you. How sweet it would be!
You will become one to give fruits and one to yield good for God when you absorb the words of God into your heart. The Scripture says, “But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty” (Mathew 13:23). “But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience” (Luke 8:15).
Dear children of God, apart from listening to God, you have to accept His words and turn into ones to yield benefits. God will speak to you in different ways. God will definitely speak to you in several ways. He will definitely speak to you if you possess the desire, thirst and expectation in your heart. He is very eager to speak to you.
To meditate: “and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters and the land was radiant with his glory” (Ezekiel 43:2).
