BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD!

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (II Timothy 3:16).

The Bible is a precious treasure. It places all the saints of both the Old and New Testaments before you. You meet the forefathers in it. You meet the saints who found a place in the history of the Scripture. You go through the model life of many and thereby get blessed. At the same time, you get cautioned by the lives of many devotees who fell to disgrace.

Enoch walked with God and moved as a friend with Him. His life gives you the confidence that you also can walk and dwell with Him. Enoch teaches you how to dwell with God through his model life.

You are amazed when you see the zenith of faith in Abraham. Once God called him saying ‘come’, he left his parents’ home and resolutely went to the nation which God showed. Abraham’s every deed of faith kindle up the fire of faith in you.

You also meet Moses who wonderfully guided the multitude of the children of Israel. You are greatly inspired by the love he placed on God, his humility and his sacrifice. You come across David who praises God with enthusiasm in the book of Psalms. When you see him, the eagerness to worship God along with him fills your heart.

When Daniel had to be thrown into the lion’s den, he refused to deny God and stood firm with great zeal. What a great challenge his life is for you! When you read about him, you experience a feeling as though you are also going into the lion’s den. The sound of his prayer continues to be heard in your ears. Is it not?

You may go through the Scripture again and again. Though thousands of years have gone by after writing of the Scripture, it remains new, powerful and gracious. Several books written a few hundreds of years have become old and unreadable today. The concepts, style of writing and the literary norms look absurd in today’s atmosphere. But the Scripture continues to be sweet, tasty, blessed and also as one to make your soul rejoice.

Are not the Epistles written two thousand years ago still powerful, suitable to your life and blessed? Dear children of God, make the Scripture your own and grow in Spiritual life.

To meditate: “for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (II Peter 1:21).
