LET IT LOOK UP TO GOD ALONE!

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills- From whence comes my help?” (Psalm 121:1).

King David knew the way to stand firm without slipping. The way is nothing but lifting the eyes towards God. Yes. Those who lift their eyes will never slip and fall. With God’s help, they will stay victorious.

One servant of God said, “Whenever one faces tests, he can stay strong in God if he keeps on saying ‘Jesus, Jesus”. How true it is! Once the legs of Peter slipped and he began to move into the water. Instead of looking up to God, his eyes kept looking upon the waves and that was why he had to slip. He not only had to slip but also to drown. In that situation, he called God who protects from slipping, “Lord, save me!” (Mathew 14:30).

The Scripture says that Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and caught Peter and pulled him into the boat (Mathew 14:31). Dear children of God, call upon God in all situations. He will surely lift you and help you.

King David said, “I will lift my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help” and along with this he also made a statement of faith. “My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” Yes. If your eyes keep looking up to God, the help will surely come from Him. It is the help which makes you stand steadfast without slipping.

God is with love and so, He protects you from slipping for the whole of the lifetime. The Scripture says, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).

God is powerful to make you stand firm without slipping and so, catch hold of Him firmly. When you cling on to Him firmly, He will also catch hold of you firmly. Some mother monkeys will climb the mountains and also trees carrying the infants. Do you know what the infant will do? It will hold the mother tightly so that even when the mother monkey jumps from one tree to another, the baby monkey never falls.

In the same way, the mother cat will clamp the kitten in its mouth and will jump from roof to roof. When you catch hold of God tightly as an infant, God will wonderfully guide you similar to how the mother cat carries its kitten. You will neither slip nor fall. Isaiah the prophet says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3).

To meditate: “From the end of the earth I will cry to you, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2).
