THE NAME OF CHRIST!

“But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God” (I Corinthians 6:11).

The Name of Jesus Christ is not only powerful but it also makes you pure.  The very meaning of the word Jesus is “He will save His people from their sins” (Mathew 1:21).

For the reason that I use the Name Jesus Christ often during my prayer time and sermons, many a time I have seen power and holiness finding a place in my ministries. When we repeatedly say the Name ‘Jesus Christ’, the Name which is mighty in both heaven and earth, descends among us and does mighty things.

Paul the Apostle says, “…we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (II Corinthians 10:5). Yes. The Name of Christ is a battle weapon for you. When you spell His Name in a non-stop manner, it prevents satan from penetrating your thoughts.

Some people are always in the thought of defeats. They always think of sliding. They always worried imagining about some unexpected accidents which could occur.

A sister had a daughter. Since she was the only child to that sister, she showed too much concern over her. At this situation, satan entered into the thoughts of the sister. After sending the daughter to the school, she began to imagine that her daughter is being caught in an accident. Due to this imaginary accident, she began to bring back her daughter from the school even before the classes get over. In the end, the education of the child was put to waste.

What the enemy chooses to attack a person is his thoughts. Satan entering Judas Iscariot was also in his thoughts only.  The Scripture says, “And ….the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him” (John 13:2). Satan was persistently showing the thirty silver to him in his thoughts. This made Judas think about money and its benefits. What a pitiable thing it is!

Has not God said, “In my name, they will cast out demons” (Mark 16:17). So, you also may cast out satan pronouncing the Name of Jesus. Dear children of God, when you stand opposing satan, He will definitely flee from your thought and memories (James 4:7).

To meditate: “And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13).
