HAVE FOUND!
“I have found my servant David; with my holy oil I have anointed him” (Psalm 89:20).
Some people go nostalgic about their happy school days. Some others feel happy at the thought of their marriage. A few others think of their acts of bravery in the past and feel happy. But for God, He feels happy in the thought of how He chose, redeemed and anointed you.
God says the following about David. “I have found my servant David; with my holy oil I have anointed him, with whom my hand shall be established; also, my arm shall strengthen him. The enemy shall not outwit him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him. I will beat down his foes before his face and plague those who hate him. “But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him and in my name, his horn shall be exalted. Also, I will set his hand to rule over the sea and his right hand to rule over the rivers.”
He shall cry to me, ‘you are my Father, my God and the rock of my salvation’. Also, I will make him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. My mercy I will keep for him forever and my covenant shall stand firm with him. His seed also I will make to endure forever and his throne as the days of heaven” (Psalm 89:20-29).
God begins with the words, “I have found my servant David.” The same God has chosen every one of you in different ways. Nothing is invisible in the eyes of God. The eyes of God which look around the whole world saw you during the days of your distress, hardship and sorrows. God who saw you, desired to fill you with the Holy Spirit and power.
That day Samuel took his horn of oil and anointed David amid his brothers. God has anointed you in the same way. “And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 1:6).
Throughout David’s lifetime, God crowned him with victory. That God wants to make a covenant with you today. God who saw you will empower you to stamp the serpents and the scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy.
To meditate: “His seed shall endure forever and his throne as the sun before me” (Psalm 89:36).
